جنرل اور چرواہا۔۔۔

یہ 1917 کی بات ہے عراق کے پہاڑوں میں برطانوی جنرل سٹانلی ماودے کا ایک چرواہے سے سامنا ہوا۔

جنرل چرواہے کیطرف متوجہ ہوا اور اپنے مترجم سے کہا ان سے کہہ دو کہ جنرل تمہیں ایک پاونڈ دےگا بدلے میں تمہیں اپنے کتے کو ذبح کرنا ہوگا۔۔۔کتا چرواہے کے لئے بہت اہم ہوتا ہے کیونکہ ‏یہ اس کی بکریاں چراتا ہے،دُور گئے ریوڑ کو واپس لاتا ہے،درندوں کے حملوں سے ریوڑ کی حفاظت کرتا ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔

لیکن پاونڈ کی مالیت تو آدھے ریوڑ سے بھی زیادہ بنتی ہے چرواہے نے یہ سوچا اس کے چہرے پر  لالچی مسکراہٹ پھیل گئی،

اس نے کتا پکڑ لایا اور جنرل کے قدموں میں ذبح کر دیا.‏جنرل نے چرواہے سے کہا اگر تم اس کی کھال بھی اتار دو میں تمہیں ایک اور پاونڈ دینے کو تیار ہوں،چرواہے نے خوشی خوشی کتے کی کھال بھی اتار دی،جنرل نے کہا میں مزید ایک اور پاونڈ دینے کے لئے تیار ہوں اگر تم اس کے ٹکڑے بھی بنا دو چرواہے نے فوری یہ آفر بھی قبول کرلی۔ جنرل چرواہے کو ‏تین پاونڈ دے کر چلتا بنا.

جنرل چند قدم آگے گیا تھا کہ اسے پیچھے سے چرواہے کی آواز سنائی دی وہ پیچھے پیچھے آ رہا تھا اور کہہ رہا تھا جنرل اگر میں کتے کا گوشت کھا لوں آپ مجھے ایک اور پاونڈ دیں گے؟

جنرل نے انکار میں سر ہلایا کہ میں صرف تمہاری نفسیات اور اوقات دیکھنا چاہتا تھا۔۔۔۔ ‏تم نے صرف تین پاونڈ کے لئے اپنے محافظ اور دوست کو ذبح کر دیا اس کی کھال اتار دی،اس کے ٹکڑے کیے اور چوتھے پاونڈ کے لئے اسے کھانے کو بھی تیار ہو،اور یہی چیز مجھے یہاں چاہئے.

پھر جنرل اپنے ساتھیوں سے مخاطب ہوا کہ اس قوم کے لوگوں کی سوچیں یہ ہیں لہذا تمہیں ان سے خوفزدہ ہونے ‏کی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔

آج یہی حال مسلم ملکوں اور معاشروں کا ہے،اپنی چھوٹی سی مصلحت اور ضرورت کے لئے اپنی سب سے قیمتی اور اہم چیز کا سودا کر دیتے ہیں۔

 آج ہمارے درمیان ہمارے ملکوں میں کتنے ہی ایسے 'چرواہے' ہیں جو نہ صرف کتے کا گوشت کھانے کے لئے تیار ہیں بلکہ اپنے ہم وطن بھائیوں کا گوشت کھا رہے ہیں اور چند ٹکوں کے عوض اپنا وطن بیچ رہے ہیں.

THE GENERAL AND THE SHEPHERD

          It was 1917, in the mountains of Iraq, British General Stanley Mawde encountered a shepherd.

          The general turned to the shepherd and told his interpreter to tell him that the general will give you a pound in exchange for you to slaughter your dog. The dog is very important to the shepherd because it grazes his goats. Brings back the lost flock, protects the flock from the attacks of beasts.

But a pound is worth more than half a flock, thought the shepherd, a greedy smile spread across his face.

          He caught the dog and slaughtered it at the feet of the general. The general said to the shepherd that if you take off its skin, I am ready to give you another pound. The shepherd gladly took off the skin of the dog. Said I am ready to give one more pound if you cut it into pieces. The shepherd immediately accepted this offer. The general gave three pounds to the shepherd and made him walk.

          The general had gone a few steps further when he heard the shepherd's voice from behind, he was coming back and saying, General, if I eat dog meat, will you give me another pound?

I eat dog meat, you give me another pound?

          The general shook his head in denial that I only wanted to see your psychology and timings. You have butchered your protector and friend for three pounds, skinned him, cut him into pieces, and are ready to eat him for a fourth pound, and that is what I want here.

          Then the general addressed his colleagues that these are the thoughts of the people of this nation, so you do not need to be afraid of them.

          Today, this is the situation of Muslim countries and societies, they trade their most valuable and important thing for their own small expediency and need.

 Today, how many such 'shepherds' are there in our countries who are not only ready to eat dog meat but are eating the flesh of their countrymen and selling their homeland for a few ticks.
